Adrienne, a classically trained vocalist, pianist, composer and educator, lives and works in Indianapolis, Indiana. She enjoys finding ways to connect the arts with our understanding of the universe and is an impassioned advocate for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. Since 2014 she has been a volunteer NASA Solar System Ambassador. In June 2021, she curated the first “V/S” (Valentina/Sally) Day to acknowledge the accomplishments of female space pioneers and to encourage future female spacefarers; the event was presented by World Space Week and the Space4Women group.
Allex graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts: Visual Art, Literature and Psychology. Allex is a graduate from the 2020 EDsnaps STEAM Internship for Leaders Summer Program and is involved as a Lead Graphic Designer in STEAM content creating EDsnaps projects.
Dr. Jan Millsapps is a Professor Emeritus of Cinema at San Francisco State University, is a veteran filmmaker, a pioneering figure in the new media movement, an early web innovator, and a versatile and accomplished writer. She has produced films, videos, and interactive media on subjects ranging from domestic violence to global terrorism and has written two space-themed novels. Her documentary, Madame Mars: Women and the Quest for Worlds Beyond, premiered at the U.N. and has been shown at the New York Academy of Sciences, Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, the University of Cambridge in the U.K., and at numerous film festivals. In 2020-21 she and her film were chosen for the US State Department’s educational and cultural exchange program, the American Film Showcase.
Dr. Juliana Herbert is a Professor of Biomedical Software Engineering at the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA), in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where she co-leads the Space & Extreme Environment Research Center with Dr. Thais Russomano. At UFCSPA, Juliana leads the research group of “Digital Health & Sustainability”. She is also an Associate Researcher at PEDECIBA-Informática, Universidad de la República in Uruguay. She is a member of the Science & Technology Hub of InnovaSpace and of the Space4Women network. Her research interests are in biomedical software engineering, artificial intelligence applications, digital health & sustainability and space sciences.
Dr. Susanne Cappendijk (aka Dr. C.) is a neuroscientist with a passion for making STEAM careers accessible to underserved students. In 2017, Dr. C. founded EDsnaps as a means to use her strong background in communication and higher education to help make STEAM concepts more easily understood and make the educational system more inclusive to future female-identifying scientists from all backgrounds.
